On April 16, 2013 the third of four webinars on the Introduction to Digital Preservation was given. The topic was management of born digital collections. Gretchen Gueguen, Digital Archivist for the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library at the University of Virginia was the speaker.
The webinar covered the basics of managing born-digital archives with techniques such as inventorying digital media and practical suggestions such as constantly updating your documentation and policy framework. Also, the webinar describes how to assess a collection, develop a management plan, put policies into practice and set up an accessioning workflow. Lastly, the webinar suggests tools to use and further reading.
